Raise your hand if one of your New Years' resolutions was to eat healthier! *everybody in the crowd raises their hand*
Well, I personally don't believe in resolutions because once you don't manage to fulfill one it will fill you with frustration which is not very good for anyone's self-esteem nor is it very realistic. It's fine to make mistakes and start over! That's why I think it's best to try to live with intention and be grounded in what we can achieve day-to-day in order to accomplish whichever goals we have in the short term or long term. Since the beginning of this blog, I have tried to practice better eating habits and try new vegan products that I can add to my lifestyle. If you are a non-vegan like me, you can join me in this practice and little by little try different vegan products that you can add to your lifestyle.
On that note, many people's goals tend to be to eat healthier and hit the gym, right? However, balancing work, life, family, friends, pets and the rest requires a lot of energy! In order to have the energy to exercise, go to my job and then work on the blog and the rest of my responsibilities at home, I also need energy...and lots of it! That's why I decided to try making energizing protein shakes at home that are easy to make and that can improve my gut health. Therefore, today's review is about Kuli Kuli's Organic Superfood Energy Shake - Vanilla.

I was excited to get my greens and protein in one drink and not have to drink a green smoothie. Kuli Kuli's Organic Superfood Energy Shake is a yummy way to get your daily dose of greens. This means that if you are like me and struggle to eat all your vegetables, this is a good option for you! Also, preparing a breakfast smoothie with it is very simple, add water or any plant-based milk of your choice, mix it/blend it/shake it and go!
Does it really keep you energized?
This is a tricky question to answer because I think my body is too conditioned to caffeine. It genuinely did not keep me as energized and awake as I was hoping it would. By 3:00 pm my body was craving a nice hot cup of coffee. However, it does help for going to the bathroom right away...if you catch where I am going with this hehe.
Nutritional value
The great thing about this energy shake is that it's boosted with a cup of nutrient-dense moringa greens and contains 8g of protein and 3g of fiber per serving. In other words, there's a lot to like about the nutritional profile of this mix. It's high in protein, has a decent amount of fiber and zero added sugars. Most importantly, it's plant-based aka. vegan (woohoo!) and gluten-free. It mixes well without having to struggle to get it smooth and if you are someone who likes to count calories, know that the serving size of 1/4 cup has just 110 calories.
Flavor
However, the taste is just OK. It does have a rather grassy-like aftertaste which is not great if you just mix it with water. But it does not taste like chemicals like other moringa protein supplements. I personally wouldn't simply drink it or eat it without mixing other flavors but I can imagine there are some people who are satisfied having it by itself. One thing is for sure, the vanilla flavor works great with fruit smoothies!
Price
I have noticed that this product is quite expensive online given that it ranges from $26.99 or more. Somehow my local Walmart (Fort Myers, Fl) has it at $12.03 which is way cheaper than online. However, paying $12.03 for just 7.9 oz is not very affordable for me although the number of nutrients in it make it a more understandable purchase.
Rating
I will definitely try other products that I can use for my morning shakes that can help me build and maintain a healthier lifestyle and improve my gut health.
We give this product 3 eco-leaves!

In conclusion, this product is Eco-Green approved!
