Do you wish to be vegan but are having a hard time leaving chicken behind? Don't worry, we got you. Here at The Eco Green Co. we want to help you make informed decisions on which vegan products taste the best, and fit your budget and lifestyle. In the quest to satisfy the cravings of a chicken lover, I have continued trying plant-based chicken options that will taste good and work well into a quick and easy meal prep on a Sunday evening.
Daring. has become a very popular brand of plant-based chicken. It comes in a variety of flavors: Original, Lemon & Herb, Cajun and Breaded Pieces. However, in this blog post, we are going to review the Breaded Plant Chicken Pieces. What I like most about this brand is the name because it inspires you to *dare I say...* DARE to try something different. Part of their marketing consists of spreading that mission to challenge convention and make a change. On their website, they say: "Daring is plant chicken with a simple ingredient list, and perfect flavor and texture." So let's see what it is all about.

Flavor
I had such high hopes for this product as I have not been disappointed with vegan chicken or vegan meat before. First of all, you can't cook them in the oven, so I had to pan-fry them. They got crispy but only on the outside but the texture is extremely chewy. The breading has a strong flavor that will make you want to dip it in some sauce like ranch, which is not a bad thing. Even if the taste is not terrible, it tasted like an overcooked chicken. That chewy texture destroys the opportunity of enjoying the flavor which wasn't very special to begin with. Maybe it tastes better if you cook it with an air fryer, but alas, buying an air fryer is on this year's Christmas list. On the positive side, it does have good nutritional value. It only has 180 calories, 10G of protein, zero cholesterol, it's palm oil-free and it's made from plants (duh!).

Price
At Walmart, one pouch cost me $5.94 which is not that bad but it really only lasts for one or two meals depending on if you are cooking for one or two people. If not, you are going to need to buy 3 or more pouches. If that is the case, on their website they sell 6 x 8oz. pouches for $45.00.
Where can you find it?
In Southwest Florida, the only store that has it is Walmart. However, these products are available across the country in many stores and restaurants. You can also buy it online through their website with free shipping on orders over $75.
Rating
Once again I express my disappointment with this vegan chicken product. I think it will be necessary to try their other products such as the Cajun chicken and prepare it with an air fryer in order to give it another solid and unbiased opportunity. In the meantime, I am giving this product 2 eco leaves and leaving space for a change of opinion in the future.
We give this product 2 eco-leaves!

In conclusion, this product is Eco-Green approved!
