There comes a point in life when wine becomes a common item on your grocery list, especially cheap and affordable wine. We are trying to get our careers and life goals started, so we don't have a big budget to spend!
Also, I don't know about you but it was mind-blowing for me when I learned from Rachel that not all wine is vegan...I was like "But grapes!...". In fact, some wines are processed using animal products because of a process called fining. Many people think that buying wine is going to be complicated when you're vegan but worry not, every store has its hidden gems, especially when it comes to vegan wines.
My favorite place to get vegan wine is...TARGET! That place is like a sanctuary, my happy place...and the place I need to abandon from time to time, or otherwise, I will go bankrupt. But most importantly, Target is an amazing place to find good vegan products. We decided to taste some of the affordable vegan wines at Target and we can tell you which ones are worth your time.
*DISCLAIMER* I am not a sommelier. Thus, I cannot accurately describe wine but here we go!
1. California Roots Rosé
Taste
The first in our list of amazing vegan and cheap wine is the one and only California Roots Rosé.
As if I can't love Target more, Target has an exclusive wine line called California Roots which was first released in 2018. They bring each wine in two sizes, the 750ml and the 1.5L. I went ahead and purchased the big one which has 12.5% ABV alcohol.
This is such a delicious Rosé! I was not expecting it to taste so good. The wine tasted fruity, without being too sweet. It is also very strong which is great because often cheap rosé tends to taste quite watery or can have a weak aftertaste. This one is perfect for a movie night, spa day or a picnic outside on a gorgeous sunny day.

Price
The amazing thing about this wine is that it only costs $5 for the small and $9 for the big kahuna! Often when you think about cheap wine you assume that is going to be terrible. Trust me, this is not the case!
Rating
Once you try this rosé, it could end up in your shopping cart from now on. Overall, this is a flavorful and affordable vegan product, so invite your non-vegan friends and see their reactions! For the price...this rosé is perfectly fine!

2. Bonterra Cabernet Suavignon
Taste
The Bonterra Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic red wine that I am sure you'll enjoy if you are into red wines. I am a fan of Cabernet Sauvignon, so you might think I am biased but remember, cabernets are often the most basic of red wines and thus, one of the most affordable. This Cabernet has flavors of cherry, is not too acid, and you can taste the oak flavor undertones. It has an ABV of 14%.
Bonus point, the grapes used to make this wine are farmed organically. However, if you are not a fan of dry wines this might not be the wine for you.

Price
This wine is $14.99, so not as cheap as the California Roots but for the price, you get a semi-high quality organic dry red wine. Also, this wine is always in stock everywhere...it's that popular!

Obviously, if you want better wines you can always spend a little more money and find something better. However, for the price, this is a great cabernet option.

3. Piper Sonoma Brut Sparkling Wine
Taste
I love mimosas...who doesn't?! But it's terrible when you find yourself with a bad mimosa because the champagne was terrible. Thankfully, Target has amazingly cheap and decent champagne! The Piper Sonoma Brut Sparkling Wine is fantastic go-to champagne for making mimosas, cocktails or simply for celebrating special occasions. Pairs perfectly with all food types from sweet, savory to salty, including chips! It has 12.5% ABV and it's dry, smooth and delicious. Remember to keep it in the fridge!

Price
The price for this is $15.99. Finding a bottle of nice sparkling champagne for less than $20 is a win if you ask me.
Rating
Overall, this is another must on your list when you go to Target...to get things you didn't really need...but you end up getting anyway. Also, it's always important to celebrate things in life, so now you have a great vegan champagne option you can rely on when you are looking forward to celebrating with friends and loved ones. Cheers!

Bonus Tip:
The worst cheap vegan wine at Target is the Ménage à Trois Red Blend Wine. Google what Ménage à trois is...it may sound tempting and sexy but the wine is not. Again, this is clearly my opinion but I was surprised at how bad it tasted...and I like pretty much every wine...It has 13.75% ABV and it costs $9.99, so quite cheap wine for a cheap price.
