[vegan] Morning Meditation Copycat Juice

Not feeling well? Need a pep in your step? This easy juice recipe comes together in less than a minute and can aid in making you feel better!

Corona finally made it to our household. When I’m not feeling my best, I like to eat and drink things that can help make my body feel better, fresh fruits, veggies and juices can definitely make a difference. Sooo many healing qualities.

Rob and I love this breakfast & lunch place called First Watch, it’s a cutesy little chain restaurant that has healthier options and great juice. One menu item we ALWAYS get is the ”Morning Meditation”, because it is delicious and has fruits and veggies that promote healing or have preventative properties.

This morning my body needed something crisp and healthy. I’ve been immensely fatigued and need something to put a pep in my step, so I can make it through my remote work day. This is where the Morning Meditation copycat drink comes in. (Usually I would make an effort to use my own fresh pressed juice, but when I’m feeling sick, I need convenience, so I always keep these juices on hand).

Ginger

Ginger is known for aiding in digestion. It is also great for settling nausea, an upset stomach. There is even evidence it can help with weight loss and reducing muscle pain. All of these benefits are imperative when you're not feeling well.

Agave

Agave is a wonderful substitute for honey. This nectar comes from the "agave" plant, a succulent that has a low glycemic-index, which means it can help control you blood sugar. It is a great sugar replacement as well. I use agave whenever possible, in recipes that call for either sugar, honey or simple syrup (sugar+water mixture).

Turmeric

To me, turmeric is the STAR of the show. This root has soooooo many amazing qualities. I try to squeeze fresh turmeric into my morning juices because it makes you feel wonderful. The main quality I typically associate with turmeric is aiding in inflammation. Further, it can also help maintain blood sugar levels. But something CRAZY is that turmeric has proven to help fight off viral infections, like the flu. It won't cure you, but constantly consuming healthy doses of turmeric can help your body when it is getting a shake down by a viral infection. Lastly, for all my ladies out there - turmeric can help with PMS symptoms! Try brewing it into a tea! Amazing.

Orange Juice

Most of us know about the health benefits of orange juice. The amount of Vitamin C it has is imperative in boosting our immune system. Orange juice is also known for improving heart health and aiding in decreasing inflammation.

Beet Juice

Beet juice is a good source of minerals and can help boost exercise stamina. This is great when feeling fatigued from being ill. Not only does beet juice put a bit of a pep in your step but it also may help you maintain a healthy body weight!

Lemon Juice

Again, most of us have heard the health benefits associated with lemons. Lemon juice is great for sore throats, promotes weight loss and helps keep your skin clear. Drinking warm lemon water first thing in the morning (before coffee or food can help "detox" (using this word carefully). Throughout the day drinking room temperature lemon water can help you stay hydrated and energized.
